Jhummandi Naadam Competition Format

​

Competition Format

  • Online (via Zoom) Singing competition is for Single Participant (SOLO) only

  • Singing Categories: Classical and Non-Classical

  • Classical songs types:  Keerthans, or Kruthis

  • Non- Classical songs types:  Light Music (Private songs), Movie songs, and Folk

  • Age Categories: Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior

Singing: (Solo only)

Sub Junior - Below 9 years

Junior - 10 years to 14 years

Senior - 15 years and above

 

  • Six Singing competitions will be conducted by Singing Category and Age Category

 

  1. Classical - Sub Junior

  2. Classical – Junior

  3. Classical – Senior

  4. Non-Classical - Sub Junior

  5. Non-Classical – Junior

  6. Non-Classical – Senior

Eligibility

  • Contestant must select the songs in Telugu language only for Non-Classical and Telugu/Sanskrit for classical.

  • Performers residing in USA only are eligible to participate in the competition.

  • ATA membership is NOT required to participate in the competitions.

Age Calculation Rule: 

Participants are to be calculated by age as of July 1st,2022. Age at 0.5 will automatically be rounded up to the higher age category. If requested, each contestant MUST Provide proof of age.

Registration

  • All performers must register for the Competition.

  • Registration Fee for SOLO Contestant: $15

  • You can participate in both classical and n0n-classical if you want to, but separate registration form to be submitted & Fee to be paid for each one.

Competition Rounds

Preliminary Round:

 

  • This is online audition/screening of the registered contestants.

  • Contestants will be shortlisted by screening.

  • Participants need to video record their voice(singing), upload in YouTube and Provide unlisted YouTube video link while doing registration.  

  • It is up to participant’s interest to choose any song classical/nonclassical and can sing in Telugu language not exceeding 4 minutes.

  • It is important for participants to take care of proper recording by eliminating disturbances.

  • Make sure your recording has lyrics audible and your voice/sound is disturbance free.

  • Karaoke Track should not be used for Preliminary round submissions. Tambura or Shruthi box can be used.

  • It is mandatory to introduce yourself prior to your recording video specifics to be provided name, age category, your city, state and category (Classical/Non-classical)

 

Semi-Final Round:

 

  • Selected contestants in Preliminary Round will participate in Semi- Final Round and will be informed via email.

  • This will be live performance online (zoom) before the judges.

  • Participants recommended to use laptop/computer for online singing competitions. (Avoid mobile phones)

  • Time limit for the Classical song is 4 minutes and Non-Classical songs is 4 minutes.

  • Tracks and Shruthi box will be allowed while performing.

  • Please make sure tracks and vocal singing clearly audible.

  • All the Semi-Final round participants will be recognized with prestigious 17th ATA conference participation certificates.

  • Winners and Runners of the Semi-Final Round will be recognized with Winner/Runner certificates.

  •  All the semi-final round winners and runners will be participate in the Final round (online via Zoom)

  • Winners & Runners will be given free entry to the conference. Any guests accompanying apart from the participant will have to register for the conference at regular price for entry.

Final Round:

 

  • Winners and Runners from Semi-finals get a chance to compete in Final Round at ATA 17th Convention and Youth Conference , Walter E Convention Center, Washington DC before the judges.

  • Time limit for the Classical song is 4 minutes and Non-Classical songs is 4 minutes.

  • Tracks and Shruthi box will be allowed while performing.

  • Final Round Winners will be awarded with ATA Title on the Stage.

 

Rules/Responsibilities

 

  • Applicants recommended and it is their responsibility  to check their web & web tools privacy & security setups while using youtube and Zoom.

  • Applicants must agree to abide by all the rules, as changed from time to time by the Organizers. ATA is not responsible for the promises (such as recognition and awards by celebrities) as things might change on the fly and might go beyond our control.

  • The Organizers are not responsible for any delays or non-receipt of applications on any account and for any reason whatsoever.

  • The expenses (travel & stay) have to be borne by the contestant for the conference.

  • The Organizers are not responsible for any loss or physical injury that occurs to the contestant on account of their participation in the event. The applicant will participate at his/her own risk and can have no claim against ATA in any regard during throughout competitions.

  • By being registered for this event, the participant and their family authorizes the use and reproduction by ATA, or anyone authorized by ATA to any photographs, audio and/or video and Zoom recordings without compensation.

  • All electronic or non-electronic negatives, positives and prints, and other digital files from or related to the event shall constitute as ATAs property, solely and completely.

  • In the event of any dispute, the Organizers decisions are final and binding on the applicant.

  • Judges decision is final if there are any audio issues from participant end.

Sayyandi Paadam Competition Format

  • Dancing competition include SOLO and GROUP Dances (at least one Team mem SHOULD be Telugu Origin).

  • Dancing Categories: Classical and Non-Classical

  • Classical Dance types:  Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Odissi

  • Non- Classical Dance types:  Light Music, Movie and Folk Songs

  • Age Categories: Junior and Senior.

 

Dances: (Solo and Group)

 

Junior - 7 years to 13 years

Senior - 14 years and above

 

  • 8  Dancing competitions will be conducted in each location/City by Singing Category and Age Category

GROUP

  • Contestant must be from Telugu origin, at least One Telugu member in group dances.

  • Performers residing in USA only are eligible to participate in the competition.

  • ATA membership is NOT required to participate in the Sayyandi Paadam competitions.

Dance Competition Rules:

  • Number of participants to be included in the group

  • Minimum of 3 Participants for Non-Classical

  • Minimum of 2 Participants for classical

  • Maximum of 10 Participants in both categories. 

  • The songs for Folk and Film dancing will have to be in Telugu language only. The songs for classical category should be in Telugu or Sanskrit language only.

  • If a group has performers from multiple age groups, please submit the entry in the category based on maximum age of the performers. Please note older age kids cannot participate in the younger age groups.

  • Junior participants may perform in senior groups.  However, senior participants CANNOT perform in junior groups.

  • Final decision of the age group shall be made by the organizers in case of any confusion and have FINAL authority to proceed so forth.

 

Competition Rounds

  • All registered contestants will be performing live at the respective location/City in front of judges.

  • Time limit for the Classical song is 5 minutes and Non-Classical songs is 4 minutes.

  • All the semi-round participants will be recognized with prestigious 17th ATA conference participation certificates.

  • Winner and Runner in each location/City will be recognized & awarded with 17th ATA conference Trophy/Plaque/Gift Hamper.

  • All the semifinal round winners who will be participating in the grand FINALE will be given free entrance to the conference. Any guests accompanying apart from the participant will have to register for the conference at regular price for entry.

Final Round:

 

  • Winners from each location will get a chance to compete in Final Round at 17th  ATA Conference & Convention from July 1st, 2nd and 3rd , 2022.

  • This will be live performance in front of judges.

  • Time limit for the Classical song is 5 minutes and Non-Classical songs is 4 minutes.

  • Final Round Winners and Runners will be awarded ATA sayyandi paadam Title.

Beauty Pageant  Competition Format

​

1. Candidates need to Apply for "ATA Beauty Pageant 2022" using the link provided here with their at least ONE photograph: https://www.ataconference.org/events-registrations

 

2. Contestants should comply with the rules set by the organizers. ATA will not be held responsible for any unforeseen or sudden changes caused with respect to the event.

 

3. ATA will NOT provide Costumes or Props for the Pageants. Contestants need to take care of their costumes and any related properties that they use during the event.

 

4. Contestants need to take care their own Travel arrangements to DC for the finale including their own Accommodation.

 

5. The Organizers are NOT responsible for any loss or physical injury to the Pageants or their family members due to their participation during the event.

 

6. Contestants should have a decent attitude towards their coparticipants, and ALL the decisions of the Judges of this event are FINAL.

 

7. Based on the need, organizers may offer 1 or 2 In-person or Online workshops/classes for the participants to help understand the process and all participants can avail those FREE of charge.

 

8. There will be TWO different rounds - one with the Indian Traditional and the another with the Western Ballgown.

 

9. During the Finale, candidates have to be available at least 2 hours prior to the event and (at least 24 hr’s prior) with their respective costumes.

TikTok Videos & Short Films Competition Format

​

Rules & Regulations (MUST READ)

• Films must be original work of applicants in Telugu Language. Some use of English is permissible and English subtitles are also accepted. There should be no “copied or borrowed” content in the short film. 
• All genres allowed. Action, Adventure, Comedy, Crime/Gangster, Drama, Epics/Historical, Horror, Musicals/Dance, Thriller, etc.
• Actors in the film must be local US residents only. Senior actors could be the parent of US resident 
• DURATION: The short films shall not be more than 20 minutes (1200 seconds), including the beginning and end credits. Films exceeding this time limit are liable to be rejected. The minimum length should be 10 minutes.
• Films submitted previously to any other festival will not be considered. If found later, will be disqualified for awards.
• COPYRIGHT: The Short Film must not contain any copyrighted work(s) belonging to third parties unless (1) Participants have a license to use such works in the Film; or (2) the use participant’s film makes of such works is a fair one under the copyright laws(such as background music or sound effects). Participants will retain any licenses and provide them to organizers upon request.
• Participants can leverage professional technicians based in the USA for making short films as per their convenience and costs incurred are paid by the participants.
• Applicants are solely responsible for obtaining all necessary rights and permissions for third-party materials included in their films, including but not limited to music, trademarks, logos, copyrights, and other intellectual property rights. ATA expressly disclaims all liability or responsibility for any violations of the foregoing.
• There are no restrictions on the number of people in the film and no restriction on the age limit.
• Films MUST not contain – Political Bias, Demeaning (religious, caste, country, vulgar, and/or adult content (applies to the content overall or the dialogues used). Any such case will disqualify the entry.
• ATA is not responsible for copyright infringement.
• Deadline for Registration: June 5th 2022.
• Participants under the age of 18 need to specify parent/guardian names.
• The decision of the jury shall be final, unquestionable, and binding on all participants.
• All TikTok submissions should be within 30 sec.
• Finalized top 3 Tik Tok & Short Film contestants will receive email communication.
• They will be recognized on the final stage.

Disclaimer


COPYRIGHTS
Video copyrights belong to developers. ATA would retain the proprietorship of all the submitted entries and disallows the sharing of the movies by the filmmakers until the commencement and closure of all the events by Short Film Festival 2022

FORMAT:

The films may be shot in MPEG4 or AVI format. The recommended ratios are: 16:9 / 16:9 Full Height Anamorphic – in DV / HDV.

RIGHT TO SCREEN:
The participants grant the ATA and Other participating Communities rights to screen (non – commercial) their film/entry on their respective websites, at the festival and other associated screenings.


INDEMNIFICATION: Participants agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless from any claim, expense or demand, made by any third party due to or arising out of your breach of this Agreement, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party. A Release of Liability Form (ROL) would signed for indemnification.
